For the first three days of our trip, Dad and I were constantly driving through whiteout conditions that obscured not only the road ahead of us but the entire landscape around us. It was like being covered in a bright white sheet. At the same time there was method to the madness as at every point of interest this sheet was lifted without fail for five to ten minutes giving us spectacular views of the country around us and usually a perfect view of what we came to see. We were inverse storm chasing catching glimpses of spectacular scenery and on the whole, appreciating it more as we never grew accustom to our surroundings.
